Mathematical Development

Positive Relationships (M)
Our Kindergarten provides opportunities for children to gain knowledge and skills, to do with number, calculation, shape, space, time, measurement and problem solving This is carried out through planned adult and child initiated activities.
Enabling Environment  (M)
Our Kindergarten has a set up where mathematical resources are readily available for children to experiment with. These resources provide children with the opportunity to solve problems, generate questions and make connections.
Learning and Development (M)
In our kindergarten activities are led towards children becoming active in problem solving with numbers and mathematical ideas. Children learn to recognize the number names and numerals up to twenty. Shapes, measure and investigative activities are also part of the on going learning. Some of the activities include  counting games, songs matching and sorting as well as imaginative play.  Children are encouraged to use these experiences when applying mathematical language and skills in everyday play.
